The security industry needs people with ability, sensitivity and professional training. The Security Option provides training for career opportunities in the security industry and also offers a broad liberal arts education for those students who wish to transfer their earned college credits from the program to fouryear academic institutions. To be admitted formally to the program, a student must complete all prerequisite courses (if applicable) and must pass CJS* H101 - Introduction to Criminal Justice  with a minimum grade of “C”. Employment opportunities after successful training in the Security Option include, but are not limited to, retail security, physical security, corporate security, private investigations, executive protection, loss prevention, surveillance and undercover operations. The general objective of the option is to prepare students for jobs in the security field or to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program.
