PSY* H261 - Introduction to the Autism Spectrum Credits: 3 A study of autism spectrum disorders in which students learn the principles and techniques currently employed to help children with autism spectrum disorders acquire functional language, appropriate social behavior, and general academic and living skills. The course will emphasize assessment, empirically supported best practices, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), functional behavior assessments, social skills development, communication, parent involvement, and understanding the individual.
Prerequisite(s): PSY* H111 or permission of the instructor.
