BIO* H105 - Introduction to Biology Credits: 4 This course introduces the foundational concepts of the biological sciences to inform students how life functions at the molecular level through how organisms interact with the environment. Designed as a general education course for non-science, non-allied health majors, lecture and laboratory topics covered include the scientific method, basic chemistry, cell biology, cellular energy conversion and carbon cycling, cellular reproduction, heredity and genetics, molecular biology, evolution, and ecology. Laboratory includes an animal dissection.
Prerequisite(s): C or better in MAT* H094/MAT* H095 or an appropriate score on a college placement exam, and eligibility for ENG* H101. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3
