AST* H111 - Introduction to Astronomy Credits: 4 This course is designed to give an overview of the major topics in astronomy and requires basic algebra. The topics covered include: the night sky, the origins of astronomy, a brief description of physics in astronomy, our solar system, stars, galaxies and cosmology. The lab portion will support the understanding of concepts and computation in astronomy. Sessions in the NVCC Observatory will be an integral part of the course.
Prerequisite(s): MAT* H095 or placement test score. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2
Note: Students may not receive credit for both AST*H101 and AST*H111.
